Colombia’s National Pedagogical University Honors to Fr. Javier De Nicolò

(ANS – Bogotá, Colombia – December 16, 2025) – The National Pedagogical University, led by Rector Dr. Helberth Choachí, has awarded an acknowledgement to the late Salesian Fr. Javier De Nicolò for his extraordinary social commitment. Born in Bari, Italy, on April 29, 1928, and ordained a priest on October 28, 1958, Fr. De Nicolò was an Italian Salesian missionary and naturalized Colombian citizen who dedicated his life to helping vulnerable young people. He founded the District Institute for the Protection of Children and Youth (IDIPRON) and created education and protection programs for over 80,000 young people in Colombia.
