“Jesus is always able to save those who approach God thru him” (Heb 7: 25).

Isn’t that the Gospel in one sentence?

Altho he’s supremely holy, untouched by sin (7:26), Jesus cares for sinners.  Ordained a priest not by blood but by God’s choice—we heard yesterday, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek" (7:17)—Jesus offers himself (7:27) as the perfect sacrifice that cleanses us sinners.  Seated at God’s right hand (8:1), he makes intercession forever for us (7:25).  All we need do is approach him, and he offers mercy, pardon, salvation—a place with him in his Father’s house.

Our unclean spirits cry out, not in terror but in gratitude, “You are the Son of God” (cf. Mark 3:11).
