Memorandum of
Understanding Signed with Diocese
(ANS – Port Vila, Vanuatu – February 27, 2023) – On the evening of the feast of Sts. Louis Versiglia and Callistus Caravario, Feb. 25, a memorandum of understanding was signed at the bishop's house in Port Vila between the superior of the vice province of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands, Fr. Gregory Bicomong Jr (seated, left), and Bishop John Bosco Baremes SM (seated, right), of Port Vila, paving the way for the arrival of the first Salesians in the latter part of 2025. Fr. Alfred Maravilla (standing, left), general councilor for missions, and Fr. Nathanael Doriri, chancellor of the diocese, were present to witness the event. The Rector Major, with the consent of the general council, accepted Bp. Baremes's official invitation on January 24, 2022 [sic].
