Salesian Statistics
Salesian Statistics Writing from the 27th General Chapter of the SDBs, Fr. Mike Pace, our delegate from the Eastern Province, posted at his blog today (3/7/14):
Today we received a ton of stats on the Salesian
congregation. This mammoth project was presented by Fr Horacio Lopez
SDB and Bro Marco Bay, SDB, Prof of Statistics at the Salesian
Pontifical University
How many SDB are there on the planet 15,298
50% of the entire Congregation lives in 5 countries India (2,646), Italy (2,193), Spain (1,077), Poland (939), Brazil (677)
Where does the New Rochelle Province rank with our 231 confreres? 13th. But that's ok. In Italy, 13 is a lucky number.
Fr. Mike doesn't identify the graph, but I hazard the guess that it shows the relative numbers of the SDBs on 5 continents (the Italians seem to have trouble counting to 6 and always give North America short shrift).
