Adoration of the Mystic Lamb
Back on the 3d Sunday of Easter (April 18), I referred in my homily to Jan van Eyck's masterpiece in the Ghent's cathedral of St. Bavo (http://sdbnews.blogspot.com/2010/04/homily-for-3d-sunday-of-easter-april-18.html).
The painting made the news a week ago, the NYT reporting that it's going to be restored. See http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/05/arts/design/05getty.html The print edition even has a nice color photo of the complete painting (12 panels--well, that's not quite complete because 2 were stolen several decades ago and never recovered).
